Jeopardy Host Alex Trebek announced back in march that he was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, but recently, he announced that he was responding well to the treatment.
“Well”, might be an understatement. It turns out, the 78-year old said that he’s in “near remission” according to his doctors. In his announcement, Trebek said, “It’s kind of mind boggling. The doctors said they hadn’t seen this kind of positive result in thier memory…some of the tumors have already shrunk by more than 50 percent.”
This is truly a marvel as the specific type of cancer that Trebek was diagnosed with only has a 9% survival rate. He revealed that the good news of him beating the odds left him emotional.
“But they were tears joy, not tears of depression,” Trebek said.
